and Many More

Vacuum Therapy or Cupping is a traditional, time-honored treatment remaining favored by millions of people worldwide because it’s safe, comfortable, and remarkably effective for many health disorders. It uses suction (negative pressure) rather than compression for bodywork, ranging from myofacial release to lymphatic drainage – and everything in between! Cupping rapidly facilitates soft tissue release, loosen toxins, and lifts connective tissues. This process breaks up and drains stagnation while increasing blood and lymph flow to skin and muscles in ways not possible with traditional massage techniques.

The cups create a “Negative Pressure Massage”: The lifting and moving action engages the parasympathetic nervous system, thus allowing a deep relaxation to move through the entire body. It is not unusual to fall asleep when receiving this treatment. People are often surprised at how relaxed they feel…hours, or sometimes even days afterwards.

Vacuum Therapy (MediCupping™)

Vacuum Therapy differentiates itself from Massage Cupping™ and other traditional methods of cupping therapy. Techniques and theory are based on Massage Therapy. The ability of the MediCupping™ machine to control the vacuum and the release of tissue makes it unique. The equipment performs the pumping techniques while the therapist concentrates on the movements. No more distraction of the gun or pump … a big advantage over manual vacuum equipment. Results are easy to document through regulation of equipment settings and successful results are achieved due to the consistency of application. A valuable tool for supporting physician-referred patients through injury and surgical recovery.

Vacuum Therapy with MediCupping™ utilizes glass or plastic cups and a machine to create suction on the body surface. These cups are moved over the skin with various movements such as gliding, shaking, popping and rotating techniques while gently lifting the cup. At times the “Cups” are parked for a short time to facilitate joint mobilization or soft tissue release. This suction can reach deep into the soft tissue or can work superficially to pull inflammation and metabolic wastes to the surface of the skin and thereby the lymphatic system can readily eliminate them. Soft tissue restrictions, adhesions and scar tissue often release quickly, despite the age of the injury or keloid scarring tendencies. Vacuum Therapy with Medicupping helps break down the “Solid bloat”, this is when heat from inflamed tissue slowly dehydrates the surrounding lymph, which inhibits normal drainage, circulation and hydration. Fascia fuses together from the heat and the congestion spreads through the upper tissues and skin surface. This inflammation can be caused by many things, such as surgeries, injuries, chronic movement patterns, and even childhood diseases and exposure to toxicities.

CuppingThe MediCupping™ vacuum lifts and releases rigid soft tissue, as well as scars, adhesions and restrictions. By clearing debris, opening drainage, and easing limited movement these incredibly effective techniques relieve pain and enable the body to promote healthier tissue. While a very light suction provides lymphatic drainage, a heavier application can be used to stimulate circulation, liquefy deposits of ‘Solid Bloat’ and loosen adhesions or the “dimpling” of cellulite. Successful and enjoyable body sculpting and contouring is possible, with lasting results and many health benefits!

Massage Cupping

Massage Cupping is the combination of massage movements and negative pressure with the use of a suction device on the skin. A cup is positioned at the area to be treated and, depending on the type of cups being used; a vacuum is created within the cup to draw the and underlying tissue into the cup. The produced vacuum creates a suction effect that increases blood and lymphatic circulation systemically and to the local area, relaxes muscle tissue and support, draws stagnation, pathogenic factors and toxins out of the body and releases a myriad of pain causing factors.

The intended suction can range from light to heavy. This, along with the movements performed and areas treated by the therapist will produce stimulating (toning) or sedating (draining) effects. It is very important that therapists be able to effectively assess the condition (physical, mental and emotional) of their clients, before the procedure, so they employ the proper application of the cups to produce the desired outcome.

Orthopedic Cupping

Orthopedic CouplingOrthopedic Cupping is for those stubborn conditions that may have been present for decades. These can be easily resolved with vacuum therapy. Nothing works better at opening up and releasing joints, connective tissue and muscles than the use of negative pressure and movement. The use of suction is commonplace throughout the history of the Olympic Games for maintenance, pre and post event injuries, detoxification and recovery.

Besides Cupping for injuries and recovery, Olympic Trainers use suction to draw toxins from the swimmers that have been absorbed from the pools that they are in for many hours everyday day.

Dead cellular debris, poisons, stagnation and excess fluids drawn to the surface sometimes leave deposits under the skin, which, short of cutting the skin and pulling it out, is the best place for the lymphatic system to drain it away.

Cumulative Cupping treatments increase muscle endurance, circulation, lung capacity, lymphatic drainage and health maintenance during strenuous activities. Many professional athletes incorporate it into their training to enhance their overall performance, agility and ability to recover from their sports.

Myofoascia Release (MFR) and Trigger Points

Successful MFR stretches the fascia away from the underlying structures. Also occurring along the fascia are Trigger Points. Trigger Points are twisted bundles of fascia that are extremely sensitive to palpation and feel like tough, dense knots along the muscle. Trigger Points cause injuries over time because they hinder the normal structure and operation of the fascia. With negative pressure, the fascia is gently stretched and unwinds without the discomfort of force.

Vacuum Therapy or cupping stimulates the movements of stagnation. Free radicals as well as undesirable molecular debris are lifted and moved with the suction of the cups, whereby they are moved into the paths of elimination from the body. One misinterpretation of the marks or “cup kisses” that sometimes can occur as result of the vacuum therapy are that they are bruises. Unless the Cupping was done too strong in a contraindicated case, no “bruising” occurs. These post cupping marks, under the skin are the stagnation of dead cellular debris, pathogenic factors, and most importantly – biological debris and metobolic wastes that are being drawn out of the biosystem. Some capillary seepage occurs, but it is minimal to the acidic agents being removed.

Blood tests have been done to measure the levels of toxins, pesticides and acids being drawn out of the body with shocking results. No cupping marks are visible on the face with Facial Rejuvenation Treatment, Sinus Relief and TMJ Treatment.

TMJ & Sinus Relief

Cupping for TMJTMJ & Sinus Relief is achieve with suction, this helps to open up the joint, loosen themusculature and facsia around the jaw. Used in tandem with joint manipulation, the pressure and pain associated with TMJD’s are relieved as inflammation is decreased and nerves relax. Cupping will not be done over an infected tooth as the infection can spread.

Cellulite Treatments

Cellulite Treatments are another profound application of the negative pressure technique is in the treatment of cellulite. The upscale spa industry has a myriad of equipment to choose from to treat cellulite, and Baguanfa Cupping performs many of those same functions manually, and with much less discomfort. Light pressure provides drainage, while the heavier applications can be used to stimulate circulation and loosen the connective tissues or orange peel appearance.

Benefits of cellulite cupping

Powerful Lymphatic Drainage
Loosens Adhesions & Connective Tissue
Moves Stagnation
Increases Circulation
Clears Toxins

Abdominal Cupping

Abdominal CuppingAbdominal Cupping is an excellent therapy for the belly. It stretches the walls of the organs, thus sloughing off stagnant waste and mucus and overall promote the activity of digestion. This is a great yet gentle treatment for those that suffer with constipation. People consistently report the relief they feel after this treatment and are able to comfortably eliminate the accumulation of waste.

Cupping that is done regularly has been a great success in reducing IBS symptoms, constipation, diarrhea, distention and acidity.

Where Cupping is Not Appropriate

Cupping is contraindicated in cases of severe diseases, i.e. cardiac failure, renal failure, ascites due to hepato-cirrhosis and severe edema, as well as hemorrhagic diseases such as allergic pupura, hemophilia and leukemia, and clients with dermatosis, destruction of skin, or allergic dermatitis.

Vacuum Therapy will not be applied on the portion where hernia exists or has occurred in the past. For pregnant women, the lower abdomen, medial leg and lumbosacral region should be avoided.
